SKIM Plate RMR – Optic Mounting Plate for Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0

SKIM Plate RMR is a dedicated mounting plate for the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 pistol and red dot sights using the Trijicon RMR footprint.

Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 pistols are among our favorite striker-fired pistols available on the market. However, they have one minor drawback: an opening in the slide that allows the user to verify whether a round is chambered. A small amount of gas escapes through this opening, which is nevertheless enough to cause carbon fouling on the front lens of a red dot sight mounted on the pistol. As a result, after firing several dozen or several hundred rounds, the sight picture can become obscured and potentially misleading to the shooter.

The SKIM Plate completely eliminates the problem of carbon fouling on the red dot sight thanks to its profiled extension, which covers the opening in the slide and directs escaping gases to the sides and forward. In addition, the steel construction of the plate provides a stable and secure mounting solution for the optic.

The plate acts as a so-called “filler,” filling the gap between the pistol slide and the red dot sight to ensure a stable mounting interface. Both the plate and the red dot sight are installed using the optic mounting screws.
